My Canada Land Survey System

MyCLSS is...

a collaborative site between the Association of Canada Lands Surveyors (ACLS), the Surveyor General Branch (SGB) and the Land Administrating Agencies to allow surveyors to:

  • initiate a survey project
  • request survey instructions
  • use online tools to help the surveyor in the production of official plans
  • monitor project status until completion
  • submit digitally signed survey documents for recording
  • obtain approvals

MyCLSS provides surveyors quick reference to relevant survey information to assist them through the survey process. Surveyors should contact the ACLS to obtain access information.

MyCLSS also provides an electronic tool for land administrators to carry out the approval process of survey plans. Administrators should contact the SGB to obtain access information.

Delays recording plans submitted in hard copy form (Mylar)

March 23rd, 2020

With social-distancing in effect, surveyors are advised that all SGB staff are working remotely and do not have daily access to survey plans submitted for recording in hardcopy format. Mylar plans submitted for recording will be processed as the situation allows, but surveyors should expect significant delays.

Surveyors can notify the SGB Regional Office Manager if they have an urgent survey plan submitted for recording by mail with the expected delivery date. If possible, SGB staff will make arrangements to retrieve and process the plan. Alternatively, surveyors can work with their SGB Regional Manager to set up digital recording.
